Our research
The Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences programme of the University of Strathclyde is part of the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences, a major research centre in Scotland and is among the UK's top Schools of Pharmacy. We have a wide range of state-of-the-art research facilities and recently benefited from the opening of a new £36m building.
We have strong links with industry. Our researchers work with businesses of all sizes, government, charities, the health sector and the rest of the public sector.Programme Structure

- This degree responds to an identified need for more NHS pharmacists to engage in research linked to their professional and practice role in areas in which a PhD research programme may not be the most appropriate qualification.

General requirements
- Upper second-class UK Honours degree or overseas equivalent.
During the application you'll be asked for the following:
- your full contact details
- transcripts and certificates of all degrees
- proof of English language proficiency if English isn't your first language
- two references, one of which must be academic
- funding or scholarship information
- research proposal of 250 to 1,000 words in length, detailing the subject area and topic to be investigated
- a scanned copy of your passport
- a copy of your funding letter, if available
By filling these details out as fully as possible, you'll avoid any delay to your application being processed by the University.
Research supervisors are assigned to you by the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy & Biomedical Sciences. Let us know in your application who you'd like to work with, but the department will team you up with the best supervisor for your project.
