EURECOM is a Graduate school and Research Centre in digital sciences located in the Sophia Antipolis technology park (French Riviera), a major European place for telecommunications activities.

History

It was founded in 1991 in a consortium form [GIE] that allowed EURECOM to build a large network of renowned academic and industrial partners. The “Institut Mines Telecom” is a founding member of EURECOM consortium. EURECOM research teams are made up of international experts, recruited at the highest level, whose work is regularly honored and has earned international recognition.

Education

EURECOM provides graduate and postgraduate courses in digital science and offers four Master of Sciences full recognized by the French State and dedicated to foreign students in Digital Security, Data Science, Internet of Things and Intelligent Communication Systems.  EURECOM also proposes two Post Master's degrees in booming sectors: Security for Computer Systems and Communication and Communication for Intelligent Transportation Systems.

Research

  • The research program is supervised by the Scientific Advisory Board which is composed of representatives of EURECOM’s members.
  • EURECOM actively monitors the state of the art in its fields and detect emerging subjects. We can thus guide exploratory research by proposing relevant thesis subjects and foster the introduction of new techniques in future products and services.

Housing services

EURECOM does not have on-campus residences but our admission office helps its future students find accommodation by providing them access to database of offers. EURECOM has a housing platform proposed to its students.

The average monthly cost of accomodation depends on the type and size of flat. Prices start at 362€ for a fully furnished flat in a Student Public Residence (run by CROUS) to 650€ in the private sector.

Medical services

All students, regardless of their nationality, are obliged to have a valid health insurance during their studies in France. 

The Health Insurance in France is called "Sécurité Sociale" or "Sécu" and is managed by the CPAM (Caisse Primaire d'Assurance Maladie).

Campus life

While each institution will keep its identity and specificities, the size of the ICT campus should give it better international exposure and attract visitors, students and businesses to Sophia Antipolis. The proximity in one single site of post-graduate to doctoral students will undoubtedly create the long-awaited activity in the science park. EURECOM expects its move into the campus will contribute to its development for the next 10 years.

Student clubs

  • The Student Association (Bureau des Elèves) is made up of 8 students representing the home institutions of EURECOM's students. The board is elected by students for one year after an event-filled campaign.
  • The association has an office on the EURECOM premises, and students may also use one of the meeting rooms. With its two foosball games and a billard, students gather to organize events such as cinema nights or breakfasts.
  • The Student Association allocates funds to the various school clubs which it receives in the form of grants with the exception of the Junior Enterprise Association which operates with its own funds.

  • EURECOM is awarded a five star overall excellence rating in the QS Stars University ratings.
