Education

The School of Arts and Digital Industries at the University of East London is a forward-thinking School in the thriving artistic, cultural hotbed of east London. Our vision is to be an internationally recognised leader in socially engaged and multidisciplinary arts. We aim to be at the heart of the cultural life of our local communities and of London itself: providing some of the key talent, skills and ideas that will help shape the future of the UK’s creative economy.

Arts & Digital Industries has an enviable track record of delivering high quality research, with world-leading outputs and impact statements acknowledged in the last Research Excellence Framework Review of 2014. Much of the School’s research culture takes shape through its research centres and group projects – including those listed below.

Career

We always keep your future career in mind. We’re affiliated to the Association of Illustrators and the Associations of Photographers, while our photography department also has industry links with Ilford, Canon, Calumet, Metro and Manfrotto.You can follow our students who have gone on to succeed in the arts world in diverse roles such as choreographers, actors, dancers, composers, sound artists, songwriters, arts education officers, event organisers, teachers and community artists.

Housing services

We’re one of the very few universities in London to offer on-campus accommodation. Our stunning waterfront Student Village is convenient, secure and comfortable - and living on campus is a great way to make friends.

Library services

Library and Learning Services provide access to high-quality academic resources, expert advice, and inspirational study spaces in modern library buildings at both Stratford and Docklands campuses. The libraries are open 24/7 during term time.

ICT services

The University of East London has an impressive range of IT resources, comprising more than 3,800 open access and individual office computers and serving more than 10,000 students and staff users. As a student at UEL, you benefit from state-of-the-art computing and multimedia facilities in our libraries, our conference and computing centre and in your School.

Medical services

For all health issues, you’ll have access to our dedicated Health and Wellbeing team at any time, while our Disability and Dyslexia Service provides support to disabled students and those with specific learning difficulties.

Campus life

As a UEL student you’ll have access to more than 90 clubs and societies, one of the best gyms in London, two student hubs, a variety of cafes and restaurants, our Underground Bar and a lively programme of on and off-campus entertainment events. Just take your pick.

Sports facilities

They include 26 sports clubs - from rugby union to competitive cheerleading - with many of our students experiencing the thrill of using the iconic facilities at the Olympic Park in Stratford.
