Description

Taiwan Scholarship is sponsored by both Ministry of Education / Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and is available to international students, applying to an undergraduate, graduate or postgraduate course.

Benefits

The amount of the scholarship and information about expenses will be known by January 31, each year.

Eligibility

  • Taiwan Embassy or Representative Offices will provide detail information of scholarship application (including selection criteria, scholarship types and quotas, application process, application period) in both Chinese and the local languages by January 31 of each year.
  • In principle, the application period is from February 1st through March 31st of each year. However, the actual application period will in accordance with dates provided by the local Taiwan Representative Offices.
  • Applicants must send the following documents within the specified period enclosed with their application to the nearest Taiwan Embassy or Representative Office in his/her home country. Failure to include any of these documents renders the application incomplete, and the applicant will not be further considered for the scholarship, without further notice.

Applicants should submit the following documents:

A completed application form

A photocopy of their passport or other documents that prove nationality

A photocopy of the highest-level diploma or certificate of equivalent educational level and a complete grade transcript.

Documents to certify that they have applied to an educational institution or its affiliated Mandarin Training Center, such as photocopies of the application fee receipt, the application form and a note of reply or email from the educational institution.

For those applying for degree programs taught in Chinese, a photocopy of a TOCFL transcript or certificate for Level 2 or above.

A photocopy of a TOEFL transcript, a certificate of English proficiency approved by the applicant's government, or documents to certify that the applicant has graduated from a program taught in English.

This does not apply to applicants whose official national language is English.
