Overview
The Food Chemistry of Foodstuffs program at Brno University of Technology is oriented both in food production with the emphasize to secure and develop advanced technologies, as well as in quality control and safety of food products. That is why the students will complete courses of disciplines necessary for the study.
The program is oriented both to food production with the respect to the implementation and development of advanced technologies and to the control of quality and safety of food products. This corresponds with the necessary disciplines the students will complete during the course of their studies.
The graduates find jobs in the university and non-university research, in the research and development departments of private companies - both in the Czech Republic and the EU (e.g. European Food Safety Authority, DG SANCO), in the complex of agro-food plants etc. The graduate are also qualified to work in the institutions of state control and business organizations.
Graduates with Chemistry and Technology of Foodstuffs will:
- gain and develop theoretical knowledge and experimental skills in the areas of food chemistry and engineering processes of food production, applied analytical and physical chemistry, microbiology, biochemistry and molecular biotechnology.
- be focused on manufacturing, processing, storage, quality control and food safety.
- gain theoretical knowledge and practical experimental skills and experience necessary for independent creative solutions of the problems in a wide and complex area of food chemistry.

- Master degree in chemical engineering, food chemistry or other chemical specializations earned at university faculties, ICT Prague or agricultural universities.
- CV including (i) a list of published works and information on the professional activities and results achieved by the applicant so far in addressing the issues related to the selected doctoral degree study topic, and (ii) where appropriate, other relevant supporting documents demonstrating his/her professional competence, such as referrals from persons with whom the applicant has been professionally in contact; and
- letter of intent in which the applicant shall comment on the expected involvement in future scientific work and justify the choice of the topic.
