PhD candidates benefit from a series of courses and seminars, from the outstanding expertise of their supervisors and from the well-equipped laboratories and computing facilities.
PhD students in the Physics programme at University of Padova will join the research groups in Padova which are involved in strong national and international collaborations, coordinated and founded, to large extent, by the European Union and by public research agencies, such as National Institute of Nuclear Physics INFN and National Consortium of Universities for Physics of Matter CNISM.
Research groups perform experiments at CERN, RIKEN, KEK and other main international facilities for fundamental and nuclear physics, as well as with synchrotrons at ELETTRA and ESRF-ILL Grenoble for the study of material science. Besides professional careers at universities and research agencies, research training opens carrier possibilities in the private sector.
