The scope of the Educational Technology Ph.D. at BAU covers facilitating learning and supporting academic performance within the context of formal/informal/lifelong learning and planning, designing, application, evaluation and management of appropriate processes and products with a focus on research and development.

In order to enhance their transdiciplinary perspectives, students admitted to the Ph.D. Programs in Educational Technology take courses in the following areas: Research Methods (2 courses), Designing Competencies (2 courses), Educational Technology (2 courses), Cognitive Psychology, Sociology or Scientific Technology (1 course) and Technology in Subject Area (1 course). Our students are provided with mentorship by our professors during and after their courses, in their preparation for qualifying exams as well as throughout their dissertation research in accordance with their career goals and research interests.

As a result, our graduates may hold positions as qualified and competent technology experts with a key role in public or private institutions and in various educational institutions.

Academic Requirements

  • You need the following GMAT score:

    Required score: 500

    The GMAT - or Graduate Management Admission Test - is a frequent requirement for admission at management and business schools across the world. The GMAT score ranges between 200 and 800 and measures the verbal and quantitative reasoning of test-takers.

General Requirements

  • A minimum grade-point average (GPA) in undergraduate program of 3.50 out of 4.00 is required for Integrated Ph.D. Program applications.

  • A minimum grade-point average (GPA) of 3.00 out of 4.00 in master degree is required for Ph.D. Program applications with Thesis-Master’s degrees.


  • A minimum score of 60 in ALES, 685 (or 154) in GREor 500 in GMAT is required for Ph.D. Program applications with Thesis-Master’s degrees; and for Integrated Ph.D. Program applications, a minimum score of 70 in ALES, 700 (or 155) in GRE or 540 in GMAT or an equivalent score in any other exam whose equivalency is recognized by the Council of Higher Education is required.
