The study program Applied mathematics is focused on scientific methods of research in the area of applied mathematics, on development of new methods and improvement of the existing methods of real processes modeling and on prediction of their development.


The program includes also the development of software tools for the models design and their verification, as well as the applications of the proposed models and developed software tools to real data coming from different engineering, technological and economical processes.
Key Learning Outcomes: 
Acquisition of deep theoretical and methodological knowledge and experiences in key branches of applied mathematics on level of current worldwide state of the art. Adoption of principles of either individual and team science work, research, scientific formulation of the tasks, solution of difficult scientific problems and presentation of scientific outcomes.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates with Examples: 
The alumnus will be able to independently solve quantitatively formulated tasks from technical praxis either on theoretical and executional level with utilization the most recent math-engineering softwares (ANSYS, MATHEMATICA, STATGRAPHICS, etc.). In his major he will have a detail information on the very up to date development and advance in given specialization and will participate in development of the theory in depth.

Academic Requirements

1. The acceptance for graduant study is conditioned by passing the admission exam which consists of a language and a professional commission exam.

2. The language exam takes place along with the professional exam before the commission. It consists of the translation of a written text and presenting of a framework project focused on the topic of dissertation thesis, in foreign language. For the study, there may be accepted only those applicants who have successfully passed the language exam.

3. The professional exam consists of oral examination of the applicant´s knowledge in given field and verification of his assumptions (qualifications) for successful study in given field.

4. Within acceptance of the applicants, there are also considered the results of the previous study and other activities (publications, participation in contests etc.). The published papers will the applicant submit to the exam commission.
