In addition, the Graduate School Office organizes events specifically for Young Scientists, like the Young Scientist Retreat. Furthermore, Welcome Days, Business Breakfasts and Journal Clubs at Lunch as well as other networking events are offered.
The HEiKA Graduate School on Functional Materials at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) offer contributes to the continuous deepening of the partnerships and to the development of new cross-disciplinary connections between Doctoral and Postdoctoral Researchers as well the PIs from KIT and Heidelberg University.

Funding
The Carl Zeiss Foundation Stipend Program is a part of the HEiKA Graduate school on “Functional Materials”. The program offers 20 stipends for doctoral researchers. Both national and international students can apply. Additionally, stipends for specific research topics may be announced. Furthermore, positions as scientific staff in the groups or at the institutes of the Principal Investigators are frequently advertised.
