Overview
At Medicine programme is offered by University College London (UCL) collaborative interactions between scientists, clinicians and healthcare industries at national and international levels provide our students with excellent networking and potential future career opportunities.
The division of medicine comprises of six research departments and institutes whose research aims to understand the basis of disease, and to develop better diagnostics and treatment for diseases. Each research department and institute comprises a number of specialist centres, each with a particular research focus.
Careers
Recent graduates have taken up clinical, academic, postdoctoral and scientific advisory positions in the public and private sectors, nationally and internationally.
Employability
UCL has an impressive graduate employment rate with approximately 90% of alumni in employment or further study six months after graduating. In addition to the immediate career prospects, alumni have progressed to positions in leadership in many areas including academia, the health services and industry.
Networking
The division runs several seminar programmes that attract high-profile national and international external speakers. There is an annual careers event for students, which includes alumni, industry, healthcare and scientific publishing representatives. In addition, academics in the division have numerous national and international collaborative links with academic and commercial organisations. Together these provide students with broad opportunities for networking and career development.
