Programme Structure
Courses include:The Public Affairs and Policy PhD follows a core curriculum framed around the concept of governance and covers topics in public policy, political institutions, organization theory and behavior, and the foundations of governance theory.
- The core research methods curriculum provides multidisciplinary training in the conduct of social science research.
- Students can design a field area of study which aligns with their interests by choosing from a set of designated courses in the Political Science and Public Administration departments as well as other elective courses from the wider University.
- Students’ field coursework should inform and support their dissertation research interests.

- To be considered for regular admission, applicants must have a minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or the equivalent (on the U.S. 4.0 scale) from the degree granting institution(s). Applicants who have earned 9 or more letter-graded graduate credits must have a minimum graduate GPA of 3.0 or the equivalent; this graduate GPA supersedes the undergraduate GPA.

- Financial documentation demonstrating adequate financial support for at least the first year of study
