The main goal of this Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering programme from Politecnico di Torino is providing students with those competences required to carry out theoretical and experimental research and innovation activities in fields closely related to specific features characterizing the programme.
The programme focuses on promoting and developing both theoretical knowledge and practical applications, keeping in mind the varieties of professionals and researchers that this PhD programme aims at training, offering a wide range of interdisciplinary courses.
Usually, students acquire basic knowledge in the field attending II-level and III-level courses; subsequently, in order to improve their knowledge of specialised topics, students are provided with specific III-level courses offered by Politecnico and other external Institutions.
It is also provided the opportunity to attend courses organized in the framework of summer schools, seminars and congresses. Relevant experimental activities are provided, if coherent with the students’ career path. Eventually, during PhD training, students usually spend a period of research and study abroad at academic institutions or companies.Career
This programme aims at training highly-qualified researchers and technicians, who are able to work both in industry and academic sector and in research centres, based in Italy and aborad, operating in the field of electrical and electronics engineering (An example of research topics of interest is provided by themes and researches of IEEE, Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers).
In particular, the following areas are explored: fields, circuits and compatibility EM; Integrated electronic devices and sensors; Electric drives and power supply systems; Electronic systems; Applied ElectroMagnetics; Telecommunications.
This PhD programme provides that research activity shall be carry out since the first year; this activity will allow students to exchange information and opinions with international researchers and PhD students, developing relationships which might help them to develop their research activity outside Politecnico, in international environment.
