The Applied Health Research Degree programme is based within UCL's Institute of Epidemiology and Health Care.
You will join an extremely engaging PhD programme, which currently supports a vibrant community of over 100 students from all over the world.
The Applied Health Research programme at University College London (UCL) offers you the opportunity to join a multidisciplinary research department with experts who focus on a wide range of public health concerns such as:- Quality improvement initiatives

You will also have access to UCL's Doctoral Skills Development programme, which will enable you to expand your research and transferable skills in order to support your research, professional development and employability.
Programme Structure
The Research Department:- is driven by the need to tackle the social gradient in health and to improve health and health care across all social groups;
- focuses on those interventions, programmes and pathways which are most likely to have a substantial impact in terms of health outcomes and reductions in health and health care inequalities;
- has interests that span health care and public health services and measures to influence policy, clinical decisions and health-related behaviour;
- is concerned with evaluating the quality (effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, equity and appropriateness) of health care and public health interventions; and
- focuses on developing the knowledge base about the adoption, implementation and dissemination of evidence-based health care and public health interventions.
