Overview
Education
Faculty have specialties in diverse areas including statistical machine learning, experimental design, linear models, sample surveys, statistical theory, computational Bayesian inference, bioinformatics and computational biology, and analysis of qualitative data. They have interest and broad experience in the application of statistics to the biomedical sciences, social sciences, law, and public policy.
Students can tailor the Statistics program at Northwestern University to meet academic interests and career goals, and cross-disciplinary work is encouraged. The program prepares students for careers as university teachers and researchers and as research statisticians in industry, government, and the non-profit sector.

General requirements
- Admitted students must hold a U.S. bachelor’s degree — or an equivalent non-U.S. degree — from a regionally accredited institution.
- TGS will accept applications from international students with 3-year bachelor's degrees.
- You may be considered for admission before you finish your undergraduate degree, but you must complete that degree before you enroll at Northwestern.
In general, to apply to The Graduate School (TGS), you will be required to:

- Pay an online application fee by credit card.
- Submit your Statement of Purpose.
- Upload your transcript or academic record.
- Submit your test scores (if required by your admitting program).
