Programme Structure
Research
- There is an active and dynamic culture of research in Art History at Victoria University of Wellington.
- You might choose to explore contemporary New Zealand art, the politics of art and climate change, the narratives of Oceania in art, or look at how artists write about art.
- You will work closely with curators and experts from the Adam Art Gallery, and draw on collections held in galleries and museums around New Zealand.
- You'll also be able to take advantage of Wellington's unique research resources—The National Library and Archives New Zealand.
- Our staff publish widely and the quality of their research is recognised nationally and internationally.
