Overview

The Social Sciences - Territories, Economics, Law Doctoral School at the University of Orleans is the ideal place to support doctoral students.

In conjunction with the host laboratories, its mission is to ensure that optimal conditions are in place for the doctoral programme up to the thesis defence.

It also prepares and facilitates the professional integration of doctoral students by introducing them to a broader scientific culture and knowledge of the social and economic world.

Objectives

The objectives we have set ourselves are to:
  • facilitate the realization and the follow-up of the thesis,
  • promote doctoral students’ access to research tools (research techniques and methods, databases, computer tools, etc.), to prepare them for the publication of their thesis online,
  • enable students from different disciplinary fields to exchange their research experiences during events organised by the Doctoral School, notably the annual Doctoral School Days,
  • deepen and enhance doctoral students’ disciplinary and cross-disciplinary culture.
  • provide a better understanding of research professions and the socio-economic world, and to facilitate post-doctoral professional integration,
  • encourage and facilitate the international mobility of doctoral students.

Programme Structure

Areas of research include:

  • Social sciences
  • Development and environment
  • The responsibility of the state in disaster risk management
  • Economy
