About

The Doctoral Programme in Molecular Life Sciences (DPMLS) offers high-quality doctoral training that is based on internationally recognized research. Doctoral dissertations are done within research projects under supervision of distinguished professors and researchers. Biosciences are one of the strong research areas of University of Turku, DPMLS being in the heart of it. Wide and long-term collaborations with researchers from international and national universities, research institutes and companies support networking of doctoral candidates during the doctoral dissertation.

Application calls for a right to study at the doctoral programme in Molecular Life Sciences and the Faculty of Science and Engineering are annually open in March and in September. In September call, it is also possible to apply a fixed-term funded doctoral candidate position.

                Academic Requirements

                • Eligible applicants for studies leading to an academic or artistic licentiate or doctoral degree have completed
                • a relevant Master’s degree awarded by a university;
                • a relevant Master’s degree awarded by a university of applied sciences; or
                • a relevant applicable study programme abroad which in the awarding country gives eligibility for the corresponding level of higher education.
                • There are no formal language proficiency requirements (language test) regarding applying to doctoral training in the Faculty of Science and Engineering in the application call of  March 2019. However, admitted applicants must have a good knowledge of the English language.
