About

  • The main objective of this PhD in Pharmacology is to train scientists working in pharmacology and other related disciplines to become high quality teachers and researchers capable of carrying out research that can lead to the generation of new knowledge in an innovative and creative manner through scientific and technological research projects. 
  • It is hoped that they can contribute to university academic activity and/or production at the highest level, thereby promoting the development of the discipline in both its basic aspects and its clinical and/or technological applications: drug design, drug-receptor pharmacology, molecular pharmacology, bioequivalence, pharmacokinetics, pharmacogenomics and clinical pharmacology, among others.
These are the aims of the programme:
  • Offer a programme at a high academic level that links teaching and research.
  • Increase general knowledge about pharmacology at expert level.
  • Develop the necessary skills to apply the latest techniques and tools at a high level of expertise in pharmacological research.
  • Generate knowledge through research projects, both on an individual and a multidisciplinary and interinstitutional level to allow students to develop the skills they need to carry out independent research.
  • Train professionals to be able to generate knowledge and solve problems that are specific to the community involved in the evaluation of information about drugs and their use.
  • Train participants to be able to teach and therefore promote and transfer their knowledge to the scientific community and the general public.
  • Train professionals to be able to link advances in the development of medicaments to healthcare requirements so that they benefit each other mutually.
