Programme Structure

  • The InnoEnergy PhD School provides access to a unique series of training courses and educational opportunities that focus on entrepreneurship, innovation and business for doctoral candidates and future innovators. It provides additional depth, context and insight to your research, equips you with in-demand skills and attributes that have value in the employment market, and offers significant opportunities for networking with peers and practitioners across Europe.
  • The training and international placements are designed as an addition to your own research: they should complement your work rather than replace or detract from it.

English Language Requirements

This programme may require students to demonstrate proficiency in English.

Academic Requirements

We are looking for doctoral candidates who:

  • Can demonstrate an interest in innovation in the energy field
  • Are working on a thesis with strong potential for innovation and entrepreneurship
  • Have a strong industry connection for their thesis
  • Are actively looking to make an impact with their research

You will need to upload a number of documents with your application form, including:

  • Your CV or résumé
  • A copy of your passport or ID card
  • A cover letter explaining your reasons for applying
  • Letter of support from your thesis supervisor
  • Letter of interest from your industrial partner(s)
  • Transcripts and certificates of your Master’s degree
  • A passport-style photo or similar head-shot for name badges, security passes etc.

Living costs for Eindhoven

The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.

Funding

The InnoEnergy PhD School mainly provides access to complementary educational and networking opportunities and international placements across Europe, but it does not fund individual PhD research.
