Overview
Education
Over the course of the past 25 years, our department’s engineering programs have collectively conferred roughly 2,000 degrees to highly motivated students who chose to complete their graduate education at Ohio State, and have gone on to successful careers in industry, government and academia. The Mechanical Engineering programme is offered by The Ohio State University.
Our department provides diverse opportunities for graduate studies in fundamental and applied research in all areas of mechanical, aerospace, and nuclear engineering. We also focus on multidisciplinary, collaborative research with faculty in other departments in the College of Engineering and in colleges at The Ohio State University including the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Medicine.
Programme Structure
The mission of the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is the education of professionals in mechanical, aerospace, and nuclear engineering, the dissemination of knowledge and technology, and the development of innovative solutions to problems in these fields.

- The equivalent of a four-year bachelor's or advanced degree from an accredited college or university, earned by the expected date of entry into your graduate program.
- A minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (on a 4.0 scale or equivalent) for the last bachelor's or advanced degree earned.
