Programme Structure

  • Courses in curriculum development and teaching methods, as well as an elective opportunity for practice teaching,
  • A broader selection of advanced practice practicum courses, building on the existing strengths of the member schools,
  • A three-semester integrative clinical scholarship series, embedded in clinical practice as required by the accrediting body CCNE, to complete the scholarly project of the clinical doctorate.

      The TOEFL iBT ® measures your English-language abilities in an academic setting. The test has four sections (reading, listening, speaking, and writing), each with a score range of 0-30, for a total score range of 0-120.

      The IELTS – or the International English Language Test System – tests your English-language abilities (writing, listening, speaking, and reading) on a scale of 1.00–9.00.       The TOEFL®PBT is administered in a paper format and measures your ability to use and understand English in a classroom setting at the college or university level. It accurately measures how well you can listen, read and write in English while performing academic tasks.

    General Requirements

    • A grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale in overall graduate course work.
    • Master’s level courses in Advanced Physical/Health Assessment, Advanced Pathophysiology, and Advanced Pharmacology (for the direct care track).
    • Master’s level courses in core nursing areas such as nursing theory, research, and transcultural nursing. Students with a degree other than nursing will be required to make up deficiencies in preparation.
    • Current, unrestricted California RN licensure or eligibility and advanced practice national certification and national furnishing/prescriptive authority, if applicable.
    • Three letters of reference, with completed recommendation forms.
    • A personal written statement of purpose.
