Graduates acquire transferable skills (university-level teaching, science communication, building networks, leadership skills, international experience). In addition to promoting publications in scholarly journals and the ability to present research findings in academic contexts, the program enables participants to develop the personal skill sets necessary for a successful career in research or in another demanding profession. The curriculum can be adapted to individual interests. To assure high quality, program participants receive excellent support from a PhD committee made up of experts in the field.

  • If you are interested in an individual doctorate, you must first contact an instructor at the institute in your field of study and present your thesis idea. You can submit an application for doctoral studies as soon as you have found an advisor. The advisor then signs a confirmation form which you must submit with the rest of your application material.
