Overview

The degree program requires participants to conduct independent research, write a PhD thesis, and to perform coursework worth a total of 12 ECTS credits. Program outcomes include acquiring subject-specific skills in the area of specialization and improving research methodology. 

Graduates acquire transferable skills (university-level teaching, science communication, building networks, leadership skills, international experience). In addition to promoting publications in scholarly journals and the ability to present research findings in academic contexts, the program enables participants to develop the personal skill sets necessary for a successful career in research or in another demanding profession. The curriculum can be adapted to individual interests. To assure high quality, program participants receive excellent support from a PhD committee made up of experts in the field.
