History
The university was formally founded on 21 July 2010 as Turkey’s first foundation supported State University.AGU admitted its first students in 2013 - 2014 Academic Year. Education is being conducted at the site of Turkey’s first industrial complex, which is being transformed from a place of great historical significance to be a notable place of education.
Education
AGU will admit undergraduate students to its eleven different programs in School of Engineering, School of Life and Natural Sciences, School of Architecture, Faculty of Managerial Sciences, School of Humanities and Social Sciences in the 2020-2021 Academic Year. New undergraduate programs will be added in near future. AGU will also project interdisciplinary graduate programs in its academic departments.

The Liaison Office serves as a resource providing advice and administrative assistance to all international faculty members.
Housing services
Kayseri is very conveniently located to two world class touristic centers: Cappadocia and Mount Erciyes. There are many different options for accommodation.
Library services
The AGU Library offers an extensive range of books (+20.000 paperback and electronic books) and periodical subscriptions (+120.000).
Medical services
On our Sümer campus a nurse is available on site at the AGU HEALTH CENTER until 5pm. A doctor is available on campus every morning during the week.
Campus life
- Eventually, AGU will be serving in two campuses: Sumer in the city center and Mimar Sinan at a new developing site outside the city. Instruction at AGU will take place at the Sumer campus.
- The historical premises of the Sumer Bank Kayseri textile factory (the first industrial site in Turkey) are being converted into a uniquely elegant university campus that will embody a comfortable blend of social and cultural elements.
