CIFFOP Institute for Advanced HR Education, Training and Research (Université Paris II Panthéon-Assas)

University Paris 2 Panthéon-Assas advocates diversity and cultivates a true synergy between research, instruction, and application. It offers a broad choice of courses both in initial and continuing education, coalescing study abroad and field work.

History

Historically rich, University Panthéon-Assas is heir of the former Faculté de Droit et de Sciences Economiques de Paris, once comprising the Sorbonne and located in the heart of the Latin Quarter since the 13th century.

Education

Considered as France's first law university, University Paris II Panthéon-Assas is dedicated to upholding the tradition from which it arose, preserving, yet ever-striving to raise its level of excellence in the following disciplines: Private Law and Criminal Science, Public Law, Political Science, Roman Law, History of Law, Economics , Management, Information and Communication Sciences.

Research

Research is at the essence of academic distinction and stature, whether on a national, European, or international scale. University Paris II Panthéon-Assas thus endeavors to:

  • respond to a scientific demand that relies increasingly on synergism and cooperation, by aggregating research themes and creating a genuine cross-disciplinarity between diverse research centers
  • encourage a continuity between teaching and research, by more tightly aligning our masters programs with research teams and associated UMR CNRS research laboratories
  • intensify collaborations and partnerships, with the dual advantage of reciprocity and international scientific exchange.

Career

Our extensive partnerships not only with major French, European, and International agencies, but also with major financial and industrial firms, ensure anchorage in the professional world and guarantee the veritable polyvalence for which we are known.

  • increasing student mobility
  • multiplying international partnerships, bilateral conventions, and Erasmus agreements
  • encouraging delocalized teaching and promoting innovative degree programs
  • participating in training sessions abroad within the Consortia framework
  • diffusing and advancing the art of French jurisprudence beyond its borders

Library services

Attentive to students' needs, the university provides academic programs adapted to and organized within the LMD framework. Various digital services, tutorials, an ever-growing library database, course and professional counselling services, and a selection of extracurricular athletic and cultural activities all act in concert to complete and harmonize each student's university experience.

ICT services

Various digital services, tutorials, an ever-growing and comprehensive library database, course and professional counselling services, and a selection of extracurricular athletic and cultural activities all act in concert to complete and harmonize each student's university experience.

Campus life

The university encourages, sponsors, and organizes a full array of pedagogical, professional, athletic and cultural activities from conferences and symposiums, debates and discussions, to moot courts and awards ceremonies, sporting events and celebrations...events follow, one after the other, as a kind of perpetual testimony to the richness of university life and the exchange that it encourages.

What is more, by the sheer diversity, spirit, and vitality of the student associations within our walls, this reservoir of recreational initiatives is continually enriched and replenished.

Sports facilities

You can choose over sixty athletic activities (among them rowing, boxing, fencing, soccer, swimming, rugby, yoga...), as well as specialized training. Spread over 200 time slots, from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. on Monday through Friday, these opportunities are accessible at beginning, intermediate, and competition levels.

Student clubs

At the origin of fifty or more associations, are students willing to take on all issues (academics, sports, music, societal debates, acts of solidarity), defending their opinions and predilections, affirming their centers of interest, promoting their university.  They create spaces of mutual help and conviviality as constructive as they are formative, where, even in the air of festivity, their core values of democracy, citizenship, justice, and creativity hold firm.

For those wanting to create an association, the Cultural Service is there to help, assisting with the modalities or eventually attributing financial aid through the FSDIE (Fonds de solidarité et de développement des initiatives étudiantes).
