History
The Imperial Women’s Medical College, the predecessor of Toho University, was founded by the brothers Yutaka Nukada and Susumu Nukada in 1925.
“Nature, Life, Man” the founding spirit of Toho University, is the title of a book by co-founder Susumu Nukada whose educational principles have given a distinctive ethos to the develop - ment of the university.

Campus life
- The Omori Campus has good access to public transport. It is just a 10-minute walk from Umeyashiki Station on the Keikyu Line and 10 minutes by bus from Kamata Station on the JR Keihin Tohoku Line. Buses from Kamata Station run every 10 minutes.
- The Narashino Campus, occupying over 128,000m2 and consisting of more than 60 buildings, is home to the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences and the Faculty of Science. As you enter through the main gate, the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences is on the left and the Faculty of Science on the right.
