Education

Faculty of Social Sciences will support you in your scientific development, planning your career path and following your own interests. You will have individual consultations with lecturers, mentoring sessions and support in finding yourself in a new environment. Student services

After your arrival in Wrocław, this should be the second place, after the dormitory, which you visit. In the International Relations Office you can find out all about your study at the University, get your legitymacja and indeks and ask important ques-tions concerning your stay in Poland. You can also check your e-mails there. The office is located in the main build-ing of the University on the second floor. In addition to the International Relations Office, each department has a special Erasmus Coordinator, to whom you may put all questions con-cerning your studies in Wrocław.

Housing services

The University of Wrocław has five co-educational dormitories: Dwudziestolatka, Kredka, Ołówek, Parawanowiec, Słowianka.

All are located in the city center near Grunwaldzki Campus. Students are accommodated in single or double rooms, in Dwudziestolatka also in triple ones. All dormitories have Internet access, also wireless.

There are approx. 2000 places in the university’s dormitories. If the number of applicants exceeds housing capacity, priority will be given to full- and part-time (evening) students in difficult circumstances, who would not be able to take up studies due to daily commute or whose studying would be severely hindered due to daily commute.

Library services

The University Library in Wrocław is considered an extraordinary academic library, because in addition to the universal research and teaching book collection, the subject matter of which corresponds to the scientific disciplines represented at the University, it has excellent special collections, which are its great asset.

ICT services

Students at the Faculty of Social Sciences have an access to the wireless internet in all the campus facilities. In the Faculty Library there is also a computer room available to the students. A team of faculty’s own IT specialists is there to assist the students in case of need.

Medical services

Students from EU countries are entitled to all medical services which you access with your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). Please ask your health care provider for further instructions before coming to Poland. You don’t need to take the card with you; a confirmation certificate that you have one will do.

Campus life

All buildings of the Faculty of Social Sciences are located in one place. The faculty campus with all its institutes, library and administration is located on Koszarowa street no. 3 in Karłowice district of the city of Wrocław, just a few kilometers away from the center of the city. It is convincingly located and easily accessible by city public transport. On the campus there is a canteen and cafeteria and in the district surrounding it there are numerous restaurants, pubs, bars as well as supermarket, groceries etc.

Sports facilities

At the University of Wrocław sport is just as important as studying. This is demonstrated by good positions of our sections in the Lower Silesian Inter-University League and the Polish Academic Championships. The University’s athletes train in the following sections: aerobic, badminton, sports bridge, karate, croftball, women’s and men’s basketball, athletics, cross-country running, skiing, snowboard, women’s and men’s football, women’s handball, women’s and men’s swimming, women’s and men’s volleyball, chess, tennis, table tennis, floorball, rowing, and climbing.

Student clubs

  • Studying is not all about participating in classes, but also in research groups and student organisations.
  • Students organisations are primarily: Student Government: and Independent Students’ Association.
  • Each year we organise the Research Groups and Student Organisations Fair, where you can talk with individual students.

The Faculty of Social Sciences and all its study programs are accredited by the Polish Accreditation Committee.
