History
The Faculty of Arts was established on 1 January 2006. It grew out of the USB Institute of History and it now consists of the Institute of Archaeology, Institute of History, Institute of Archival Studies and Auxiliary Sciences of History, Institute of Czech Studies, Institute of Art and Culture Studies, Institute of Czech-German Area Studies and German Studies and Institute of English Studies.
Education
- The Faculty of Arts offers attractive and high-quality bachelor's, master's and doctoral programmes of high quality. Due to its size, the faculty can offer the advantage of an individual and friendly approach to students.
- The Faculty of Arts has a very rich programme of international cooperation, even in the field of joint degrees.
Research
The faculty is also recognized as an important research institution in the field of humanities. Instruction provided at the Faculty of Arts thus reflects the latest knowledge in all available fields.
The faculty prides itself in three excellent scientific teams focusing on the history of the newer Czech literature in transnational contexts, the history of society in Czech countries in early modern times and the theory methods and model in contemporary language research.
