You will be taught by leading international researchers and award-winning creative writers in a location steeped in literary history.
Our programmes – English and American Literature, Creative Writing, Contemporary Literature and Postcolonial Literature – cover all periods from Chaucer to the Contemporary and at every step of the way students choose their own pathway through the subject.
All our undergraduate degrees are available with a year abroad or a year in industry and our postgraduate programmes are taught at centres in Paris and London as well as in Canterbury.
Research Centres:
91% of Kent English students that graduated in 2013 found employment or went onto further study within 6 months of graduating. Our degree provides students with a range of highly developed transferrable skills which enables our students to go into a variety of careers.
Some of our taught postgraduate programmes allow students to spend a term at our Paris Centre, where you cannot help but find literary inspiration.
As a student of literature at the University of Kent you will be surrounded by centuries of literary history.
