Department of Philosophy

The interdisciplinary programs of the department uniquely combine historical and analytic approaches to major areas of philosophical study, allowing for a fruitful dialogue between contemporary philosophy and its history. The department works in close collaboration with the Departments of Cognitive Science, Medieval Studies and Political Science.

Education

  • Master of Arts in Philosophy / The program covers the major areas of philosophy including, for instance, philosophy of mind, axiology and the history of philosophy. The degree is primarily designed for candidates with a four-year bachelor’s degree in philosophy. 
  • Master of Arts in Philosophy / The program covers the major areas of philosophy including, for instance, philosophy of mind, axiology and the history of philosophy. The degree is designed for candidates with a three-year bachelor’s degree in philosophy or with a degree in a related field.
