Programme Structure

The PhD programme „Molecular Sciences and Biotechnology in Crop Production“ forms part of the "Georg-August University School of Science (GAUSS)” graduate school. The interdisciplinary programme is conducted by seven different departments from the participating faculties of Forest Sciences and Forest Ecology, Agricultural Sciences and Biology and is open to PhD candidates with a university Masters degree or diploma in the area of life or environmental sciences, including agricultural and forestry sciences.

Students are given the opportunity to conduct an independent research project in their specialist area. In addition, the programme encompasses lectures, seminars, method courses and language and professional skills courses. Based on this spectrum of courses, students can compile their own individual course of studies. Support in the selection of courses and the related administration is provided by the programme coordinator.
