Key Features
The Medical Faculty of the University of Tübingen has been offering a PhD course in Experimental Medicine. The target group are graduates of medical courses (human medicine, dentistry) and related subjects such as molecular medicine, medical technology, natural sciences, who are interested in an intensive scientific education and would like to prepare for work in the field of medical research and basic research.
After successful completion of the Experimental Medicine program from University of Tübingen, the academic degree of "Doctor of Philosophy" (PhD) is awarded by the Medical Faculty of the University of Tübingen.
As a doctoral candidate, you will:
- pursue your research project independently,
- solve defined scientific problems within a set period of time, using suitable methods
- develop new ideas
- acquire new skills, tools and knowledge
- cooperate with colleagues
- communicate your research questions and results

General requirements
Prerequisites for admission to the PhD program are:
- Graduation from medical school or a Master of Science or German diploma degree in the life sciences and related disciplines
- Acceptance by an authorized academic supervisor at the Faculty of Medicine Tübingen
- Excellent academic grades in previous studies and previous research experience.
