Housing services
Normally, all students are allocated student housing in the spring semester. In the autumn semester, some students will have to find private housing:
- Most international master's degree students enrolled in a full degree (not exchange) at NTNU, are guaranteed student housing. However, master students living in Norway or one of the Nordic countries will not be considered for student housing.
- Exchange students from non-EU/non-EEA countries, who applied within the deadline (1 April/1 October), are guaranteed housing. Exchange students from EU/EEA/Switzerland are not guaranteed housing. Nordic students will not be considered for student housing in the autumn semester.
Library services
NTNU University Library is a public scientific library, established in 1996 with the establishment of NTNU. The library, however, has roots back to the library of the Royal Norwegian Society of Sciences and Lettersfrom 1768 and is thus the oldest scientific library in Norway.
Campus life
Over the next ten years, all NTNU’s academic communities in Trondheim will be gathered from dispersed locations to a single campus in the area around Gløshaugen. The Norwegian State will fund new buildings totalling 92 000 square metres and modernization of up to 45 000 square metres of existing areas at NTNU.
Sports facilities
All students at NTNU can join NTNUI, which is Norway's largest and most diverse sports association. One of the most popular activities for international students is hiking or skiing to an NTNUI koie, which is a network of small cabins spread across the county of Trøndelag.

I want to teach Norway language in business
I be well but I want more experience in Europe language I thought Norway is best for me.
Inclusive NTNU Atmosphere
NTNU is one of the greatest universities in Norway with a great atmosphere. Never have I attended a school or university where inclusivity was such a high priority. One fifth of the cities population consists of students and it shows, as the entire city caters to students.
The Dragvoll campus is beautiful
What I would like to add is that the Dragvoll campus is some distance away from the other NTNU campuses. For me it is not a problem because there is a lot of beautiful nature around the campus. What I like best about this campus is that there is a slightly different architecture on the building. It has streets inside with a glass roof over the entire building. This is also what I liked least about the campus. The glass roof means that it is as cold inside as outside in winter, and that it is much warmer inside than outside in summer. In general, I am satisfied with my choice.
Global Student Satisfaction Awards 2025
The Global Student Satisfaction Awards empower students across the globe to determine the best universities of 2025. Universities with a score above 4.0 (out of 5) in any of the 7 award categories, receive Badges of Excellence. Congratulations!
