Education

We are continually extending our range of programmes and qualifications which include undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses as well as professional training at university level. In our bachelor's and master's degree programmes, academic, technical and methodological skills are taught using innovative teaching methods in an attractive learning environment. Studying at HFU provides students with an interdisciplinary, application-oriented education which prepares them well for their future careers.

Research

  • Applied research has a high priority at Furtwangen University. Research themes from industry, business and society are dealt with in our 6 core RESEARCH THEMES and 10 thematically focused RESEARCH INSTITUTES.  In our research projects we develop solutions, for example, for Industry 4.0, digitalization, IT security, service engineering, medical engineering, health and healthcare, and societal changes.
  • The Institute for Applied Research is the central and cross-faculty contact and coordinator for research activities at HFU, one of its most important tasks being to provide information about research activities and to support applications for third party funding for research.

Career

Furtwangen University offers many opportunities for students to work as a student assistant ("Hiwi"). This film from GLF Campus TV shows examples of students working for the University Marketing Department, the Press Office and for the Information and Media Centre. However the International Center and the various Faculties are always looking for student assistance. It's always worthwhile to check with the Faculty or Department directly.
