History
The first two faculties of Ege University are Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Agriculture, which were founded in 1955. School of Nursing was also established within the same academic year.Ege University, having completed its entire establishment in a span of 20 years, added new faculties, institutions, and schools to its academic units in different dates.

Since its establishment, Ege University, as Turkey’s fourth, and the region’s first and the oldest university, has adopted the principles of contributing to the scientific world in a universal scale by producing knowledge rich in quantity and quality, educating productive individuals and culturally well-equipped researchers who are conscious about local and global facts, and creating a higher added value with its regional strength by prioritising social benefit.

Library services
Access to licensed databases and electronic versions of periodical publications to which our University Library is subscribed are provided only with IP address control in accordance to the licence agreements with companies. A Proxy Server has been set up so that you can access these services from outside on commercial internet service providers while the library is closed.
Sports facilities
The sports activities of the University is carried out by the directorate of Health, Culture and Sports Affairs. Apart from this, there are sports units in the faculties and the schools.In the beginning of each academic year, the sporting games in the categories of basketball, volleyball, football, table tennis, swimming and in various categories, our Directorate of Health, Cultural and Sports Affairs in cooperation with our School of Physical Education and Sports runs games in line with the recommendations of the Prime Ministery General Directorate of Youth and Sports.

Curious For Chemistry And More!
I decided to study chemistry back in high school. At first, I wasn’t very curious about it, but my chemistry teacher changed my perspective. Thanks to that influence, I took the university exam and entered Ege University. In the beginning, I was shy and timid. However, when I met my professors, everything changed. They were full of energy and passion for teaching, always eager to show us everything related to chemistry. I could feel the excitement in the atmosphere, and that’s how my story at Ege University started. The laboratory environment was especially inspiring. Sometimes you walk into a room or workplace and immediately feel bored or unmotivated, but in this lab it was the opposite. It was never tedious. I was eager to spend the whole day there, performing experiments and learning. That was the moment I knew I wanted to stay and continue my studies in chemistry. Our classes have been very informative, and the administration always works to add new chemistry courses each semester. This makes the program dynamic and valuable for students. I will graduate with my associate degree in the summer of 2026. Lastly, the campus atmosphere is tremendous. It is easy to meet new people, make friends, and relax while studying. All of these experiences together have made my time at Ege University both enjoyable and meaningful.
