University of Hohenheim

Founded in 1818 after a devastating famine, the University of Hohenheim is not only engaged in foundational research but traditionally also in developing innovative solutions for urgent social matters.

Excellent research and teaching is only possible in an international context. The University of Hohenheim presents itself as an attractive university for students, employees, and guests with an international horizon. It is characterized by:

• an international range of courses with English-language and double degree programs
• exchange programs, scholarships, and funding possibilities for incomings and outgoings
• global networks in research and teaching, each with around 100 international partners
• an economically and culturally attractive environment
• a welcoming culture with international student groups, festivals, and events
• a very good international reputation and a global network of international alumni

The integration of research in teaching is the prerequisite for excellent academic teaching. With the project “Humboldt reloaded,” it positioned itself as one of Germany’s top universities for research-focused learning even during the Bachelor's programs. Other projects make university teaching mobile, focus on developing skills in the early phase of studies, or promote entrepreneurial thinking and an entrepreneurial culture. For the strategic further development of the topic of teaching, the University of Hohenheim wants to start with the students who are not even here yet: In the project “Student for a day,” a hands-on format is being developed for individual orientation of prospective students.

The Hohenheim Career Center advises and helps students and graduates with professional orientation, profile building, and applying. 

We maintain contacts with businesses and industries for students and talk about the professional world at an early point in their studies (informational events, seminars for necessary key skills, internships, etc.).

Toward the end of the degree programs, we offer assistance with career entry by organizing career fairs, individual company presentations, job marketplaces, application databases, and personal advising.
