Housing services
UL offers eight student villages with private study bedrooms, high-speed internet, and shared living spaces. Some residences include en-suite options. Prices start at approximately €6,000 (undergraduate) and €7,500 (postgraduate) per academic year, including utilities and UL Sport membership. Accommodation is supported by 24-hour security and village managers.
Library services
The Glucksman Library is one of Ireland’s largest and most digitally advanced libraries, offering extensive print and online resources, quiet and collaborative study spaces, bookable rooms, and specialist supports. Facilities include digital scholarship labs, a makerspace, and comprehensive e‑resource access.
ICT services
UL provides extensive IT services through the Information Technology Division, including student email and Microsoft apps, Brightspace access, campus WiFi, computer labs, printing, software, and password/security support. Students can also log IT issues through TOPdesk for 24/7 assistance.
Medical services
The UL Student Health Centre provides urgent care and advisory services for registered students, offering support for acute and chronic illnesses, access to a doctor or nurse, STI screening, contraception services and physiotherapy. It is located on campus with set weekday opening hours.
Campus life
UL offers a vibrant student experience on its 148-hectare riverside campus, featuring eight student villages, 3,000 rooms, and 13 restaurants. Cultural highlights include the Irish Chamber Orchestra, a national visual arts collection, and internationally acclaimed artists in residence. The new Student Centre provides modern social spaces and collaborative areas. UL is also home to Ireland’s premier sports arena, attracting 700,000 visitors annually, and offers world-class facilities for recreation and wellbeing.
Sports facilities
The UL Sport Arena includes Ireland’s only Olympic-standard 50m pool, diving pool, sports halls, fitness studios, jogging track, sprint track, and a purpose-built climbing wall. Outdoor facilities include floodlit pitches, and the UL Boathouse features Ireland’s only indoor powered rowing tank.

Chasing a new career
I'm currently enrolled for MSc in public health programme and it's actually a career change for me from clinical dentistry to public health medicine and I'm really enjoying the course and my practicum placement is giving me clear guidance for my future job pathway.

UL provided a very good experience overall. The lecturers were great at encouraging interaction among students, integrating plenty of group projects into the course, which made it easy to get to know each other. I was able to make a few good friends through these activities, even without knowing anyone beforehand. Overall, it was a really positive and enjoyable experience.
