History
Since 1997, IUSS fulfills an advanced teaching and research model successfully implemented by two other prestigious institutions in Italy: the Scuola Normale Superiore and the Scuola Sant’Anna located in Pisa.

An Exciting Interdisciplinary Journey into Science
As a current first-year student in the Master of Science in Food, Health, and Environment program at the University of Eastern Piedmont, I am extremely satisfied with my experience so far. The program offers a unique and interdisciplinary approach, combining food science, health, and environmental studies in a way that is both comprehensive and engaging. The curriculum is well-structured, covering essential topics such as food chemistry, biochemistry, nutrition, and environmental impact. The courses are taught in English, making it accessible to international students, and the faculty members are highly knowledgeable and supportive. One of the standout features of this program is its focus on real-world applications and current issues in the food industry and environmental health. The university provides excellent facilities and resources, which enhance the learning experience. Overall, I am very pleased with my decision to pursue my master’s degree at the University of Eastern Piedmont. The program has already provided me with valuable knowledge and skills, and I am excited to continue my studies here.
Coexistence of theory and practice in biomedicine
My university course gives both theoretical and practical programmes, coexisting both standard lectures about scientifical and medical subjects, and also programming in their course of study every academic year practical trainsheep in biomedical laboratories of local hospitals. The challenge consists of attending the exam session while in trainsheep, but applying in real life the theory learnt during lectures could be very satisfying
