Valletta city life
Officially recognised a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Valletta is a beautiful city, with amazing buildings that combine Baroque with Neo-Classical and Modern architecture. Since you will be surrounded by sea and lovely beaches and enjoy a sunny weather anytime you visit this city, spending your free time in Valletta will simply be a pleasure.

Wander around the lovely beaches and stroll around the Merchant Street Market, which is an open air market and you can buy or simply admire numerous products from food to antiques, clothes, and souvenirs. In this area, you will also find plenty of cafes and enjoy a relaxing atmosphere and some venues offer live music.
The Manoel Theatre in the city is one of the oldest working theaters in Europe where you can see a play or music performance. Attend some of the local festivals, the most popular one is the Maltese Carnival, held annually in February.
In terms of nightlife, Valetta is mostly a quiet place and having only bars and pubs; most young people who look for a more vibrant atmosphere go to St. Julians, a nearby city, very close to Valletta.
International atmosphere in Valletta
Apart from the international students and the numerous tourists that visit Valletta throughout the whole year, the city has a pretty compact population. Only around 4% are foreign residents, most of them are British and Italian.
As Valletta is part of an English speaking nation and has a high quality of life, several expats and overseas investors work or set a local business here.

are dry and warm and although winters are mild, a significant amount of rain is recorded during this season. High temperatures during January would be around 15 °C (59 °F) and in August these would range at around 30 °C (86 °F).
