Description

This scholarship is co-funded by The Department of International and Cross-Strait Education (DICE) of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the University of Sydney. Up to five PhD scholarships will be available each year.

Benefits

Each Scholarship will cover the costs of the annual University of Sydney tuition fee for the successful applicant’s PhD program (international students rate); and an annual stipend/living allowance, which will be at the same rate as that for RTP International scholarships ($41,753 in 2025).

You must:

  • be a citizen of Taiwan (ROC)
  • be a prospective student (not yet commenced at the University)
  • have applied for admission in a PhD at the University by 6 November.

You must first apply for admission to the University in your preferred PhD program by 6th November at 11.59pm (AEST).

Then you are required to apply through the Ministry of Education by 3 December.

Note: Applicants do not have to have received an offer of admission to submit a scholarship application to the Ministry of Education. However, only applicants who have received a subsequent offer of admission to the University of Sydney will be considered for the final award of the scholarship.

Generally, the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) requires a minimum IELTS result of 6.5 overall and a result of 6 in each band. Please check your course page for each faculty requirement.
