Description
The Zinkernagel PhD Scholarship is named in honour of Professor Rolf Zinkernagel, who shared the Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine with Professor Peter Doherty in 1996 for work done at the John Curtin School of Medical Research (JCSMR).
The objective of the Award is to enable an outstanding international1 candidate to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program in the field of biomedical research, based in the JCSMR.

Full stipend, HDR Fee Remission Merit Scholarship, relocation reimbursement, thesis allowance and recreation leave, plus additional medical, parental and partner leave.
Eligibility
The Award is available each year to a prospective or continuing international ANU student who:
- is enrolled or will be enrolling full-time in a program of study for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, based in the John Curtin School of Medical Research; and
- has completed overseas qualifications comparable to the educational level of an Australian Bachelor Honours degree, or demonstrated research experience, to a standard equivalent to an ANU first class honours.
