Description

The main objective of the Kristjan Jaak Scholarship: Short study visits is to strenghten the internationalisation of Estonian higher education institutions and employability of their graduates.

Applicable programmes

Benefits

The scholarship is for short-term study related visits abroad, including participation in conferences, working in libraries, using laboratories, development of a lecture, work with an academic supervisor, consultations, participation in continuing education courses, summer schools, fieldwork, research or teaching related activity.

Support is granted for the study visits lasting up to one month (30 days).

The scholarship is awarded to cover the travel, accommodation and subsistence costs related to the mobility, not to cover participation fee.

Eligibility

The scholarship may be applied for by:

  • master and PhD students of the Estonian higher education institutions;
  • the advanced students of the Estonian higher education institutions at integrated curricula;
  • the students who have the Kristjan Jaak scholarship for degree studies and who study in a university abroad;
  • doctor-residents working in Estonia;
  • young scientists and lecturers of the Estonian higher education institutions who are not older than 35 years of age or who have not defended their doctoral degree more than 5 years ago. Parental leave can be extended proportionally.

The application for support together with all required supporting documents must be submitted via the electronic application system.

The application form together with the annexes must be in the Estonian language, in exceptional cases in English. The recommendation letters from foreign supervisors and letters of confirmation from foreign universities may be in English.

June 1 (visits from 01/07 to 30/09)

October 1 (visits from 1/11 to 30/09)

December 1 (visits from 01/01 to 30/09)

March 1 (visits from 01/04 to 31/09)

The short study visit may not start earlier than one month after the application deadline.
