Description

The Rhodes Scholarship Program is one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious international scholarship programs.

Established in 1903, the Rhodes Trust supports 100 outstanding students from around the world to pursue studies at Oxford University in the United Kingdom. 

Applicable programmes

Benefits

Funding covers tuition, college fees and a stipend for living expenses for two to three years of study at Oxford University.

Eligibility

  • Have a cumulative average of at least 10.5 (or equivalent).
  • Have obtained an undergraduate degree before taking up the scholarship (except for medical students).
  • Be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident in Canada.
  • You must be between the ages of 18 and 25.

You will need to apply for Institutional Endorsement from McMaster and if granted, complete the Rhodes application on their website.

The application for Institutional Endorsement is available on AwardSpring in August of each year. The application will include a personal statement, CV, transcript and three reference letters.

An internal committee makes Institutional Endorsement selections in late-September.

Authorization Code: students will not require an authorization code this year to submit their application.  Applicants will be unable to submit an application without an independent endorsement from their university, which will act as authorization.

McMaster’s President submits an endorsement letter directly to the Rhodes Trust.
