Description

Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences offers TTUHSC SOM Center of Excellence for Translational Neuroscience and Therapeutics (CTNT) Graduate Student Scholarship for PhD or MD/PhD students.

Graduate scholarship to be awarded to a PhD or MD/PhD student in the Department of Pharmacology and Neuroscience/Translational Neuroscience and Pharmacology Graduate Concentration by the Center of Excellence of Translational Neuroscience and Therapeutics (CTNT).

Benefits

Award will be ten thousand dollar scholarship ($10,000.00), annually, to a Translational Neurosciences and Pharmacology (TNP) PhD student, and may be renewed one additional year (for a total two-year award). 

Eligibility

  • PhD and MD/PhD students are eligible.
  • New students must declare a concentration before they are eligible.
  • Students must be in good standing to continue receiving the scholarship.
  • Good standing includes but not limited to: GPA of 3.5 or better; no disciplinary actions; appropriate progress toward degree, etc.
  • Students that drop below full-time status or go on academic probation will forfeit the scholarship. Any student who has forfeited the scholarship and has been restored to a status allowing the scholarship can re-apply for the scholarship.  Such re-applications will be considered by the Scholarship Committee.  
  • This award recognizes an outstanding student who pursues translational research, i.e., research on a clinical disorder.  Excellence in academic and research performance as well as service and leadership will be considered.  Based on student CV and mentor letter of recommendation, CTNT members vote, and nominated student is presented at the Annual Symposium of the Center.
