Description

This scholarship is made annually to (a) full-time continuing graduate student(s) at Brock University in a Master or PhD program within the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences who exhibits academic excellence. Preference will be given to a student who has completed the proposal stage of their thesis or who is entering the final year of completion of their dissertation. Preference will also be given to a research-based student taking a critical approach to the understanding of sport, leisure, physical activity, health, or the human body in motion. Students studying these topics from the disciplines of sociology, history, philosophy, pedagogy, policy studies, critical disability studies, or embodiment studies are encouraged to apply.

  • To be eligible to apply for internal awards, scholarships, and bursaries, the graduate student must be registered as a full-time student.
  • A student who is withdrawn from the university or has a change of status will have their scholarship eligibility reviewed and adjustments to their financial support.

At the time you submit your application to graduate studies at Brock University you are required to complete and submit the Graduate Student Internal Entrance Scholarship/Award Application which will appear on your applicant portal account as a document required for admission.  After you have submitted your graduate studies application, instructions to activate your applicant portal account will be sent via email.

Students will be asked to submit a one-page statement outlining their research and how they are the most appropriate recipient of the award, along with how the support will further their research. In addition, applicants are to submit a reference letter from their supervisor. The applicants graduate transcript be reviewed to determine academic excellence.
