Description
The Edward R. Hines Higher Education Endowed Scholarship perpetuates the values exemplified by Dr. Hines- academic achievement, career commitment, integrity, and leadership- values so important for higher education leaders. Ed Hines came to Illinois State University in 1981 as an Associate Professor. At Illinois State, he was tenured in 1984, promoted to Professor in 1985, and selected Distinguished Professor in 1997. Editor and publisher of "Grapevine" for 15 years, Hines was quoted often in the "Chronicle of Higher Education" regarding the interstate higher education finance data published in "Grapevine". He has authored or coauthored five books and 50 journal articles and monographs. He has chaired nearly 50 doctoral dissertations and served on another 50 dissertation committees.
