Description
Swansea University is pleased to offer fully-funded Swansea University Research Excellence Scholarships (SURES) for full-time doctoral students to its fifth cohort, commencing in October 2024.
The research will address the issues of well-being, regional development and ecosystems, specifically the emergence of purposeful ecosystems. It will do this through a focus on The Well-being of Future Generations Act (Wales, 2015) and the ecosystem within Wales. The project will undertake one of the first in depth primary research projects of this type. The specific aim is to understand how the Well-being of Future Generations Act (Wales, 2015) is being embedded and implemented both within the public sector and private sector, the influence of the ecosystem (specifically a purposeful ecosystem) on this and vice versa and to enable suggestions and recommendations to be made moving forward. The research objectives are to:
Undertake primary research of the Well-being of Future Generations Act (Wales, 2015) and its implementation within public and private bodies within Wales;
Undertake primary research of the ecosystem within Wales (specifically that of a purposeful ecosystem) and how this acts to support the Well-being Act and vice versa;
To provide recommendations as to areas of best practice and how the Well-being Act and the Ecosystem could be improved.
