Description

OeAD-GmbH – Austria’s Agency for Education and Internationalisation; Mobility Programmes and Cooperation is awarding the Japan (MONBUKAGAKUSHO) - Incoming grant to Japan students willing to study in Austria.

Benefits

Monthly grant rate: EUR 1,250.

Assistance in arranging accommodation and insurance

It is possible for OeAD scholarship holders to book accommodation (dormitory or apartment) with the OeAD student housing. The monthly costs are:

monthly rent: EUR 300.-- to EUR 800.-- (depending on the amenities)

monthly administrative fee: currently EUR 21.--

Applicants from EU/EEA countries: within the European Union, costs for medical care are covered by the national insurance carrier in your home country.

Applicants from non-EU/EEA countries who are planning a research stay of more than 6 months: If your monthly costs for accommodation in Austria exceed EUR 300.

Austria additionally pays the travel costs up to max. EUR 1,500.

Eligibility

  • The grants are mainly intended for candidates who are studying, pursuing research or teaching in Japan at the time of application.
  • Applicants must not have studied/pursued research/pursued academic work in Austria in the last six months before taking up the grant. Applicants who are already permanently residing in Austria or who have completed their academic education mainly in Austria are not eligible to apply.
  • An extension is possible once for 12 months.
  • Scholarship holders are not allowed to take up paid work while receiving an OeAD scholarship.
