Description

Are you looking to study or undergo research in a well-known university in the United States, but lack the financial support? If so, you have come to the right place.

The BAEF encourages application for Fellowships to talented Belgian individuals in the early years at each stage of their education.

Every year, BAEF offers more than 65 Fellowships to Belgian students and researchers. This will allow you to pursue your studies, or research projects at your chosen US university or research center.

Financial support:

For the first year of the Master’s programs up to $72,000 ($22,000 for stipend and up to $50,000 for tuition and health insurance).

For the second year of the Master’s programs up to $40,000 for tuition and health insurance, subject to obtaining an outstanding GPA for the first year.

Eligibility

In order to be able to apply for a BAEF Fellowship, you will need to meet the following two requirements :

  • Hold a Belgian nationality,
  • Have good academic grades

As an applicant to the BAEF Fellowship, they expect that you will also seek acceptance at your chosen universities in the U.S. where you will be in competition with Americans and other international candidates.  

Requirements:

  • Hold the Belgian nationality;
  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree at the time of activation of the Fellowship;
  • Submit official transcripts of 120 credits as evidence of an outstanding Bachelor’s study record;
  • Submit an application to a two-year Master’s program in the U.S.A.;
  • Have a good command of English and submit by November 15, 2025, a TOEFL iBT score of >100/120 or IELTS >7.5/9;
  • Submit GRE test results (VR>155, QR>155, AW>3.5) or equivalent graduate admission test results.
