UMHEF scholarships help make it financially possible for qualifying students to obtain higher education, especially those attending United Methodist-related institutions. In rare cases, awards are also given to students attending other schools.
Unlike the UM Dollars for Scholars program, General Named Endowed Scholarships do not require matching funds from a student’s church.
The UMHEF General Named Endowed Scholarship program includes awards of varying amounts from 130+ named scholarship funds established by various donors. These traditionally competitive awards consider GPA, income, leadership, etc. Strong preference is given to students attending United Methodist-related schools in the United States. In rare cases, a student attending a non-UM-related school may be awarded.
The benefits and monetary value of the scholarship are unknown.
All students must meet the following criteria:
By mid-June, all applicants will be notified via email or mail about the status of their application, whether or not they are awarded a scholarship.
