The Marc Vervenne Fund (MVF) was set up in honor of professor Marc Vervenne, who is the honorary rector of KU Leuven and also the Fund’s chairman. Since its launch in 2013, five researchers from the Democratic Republic of Congo have obtained their PhD-degree with support of the Fund.

Marc Vervenne Fund PhD Scholarship Program Fund aims to enhance the capacity of universities in developing countries.

It supports talented young scientists from the DRC who are involved in research projects that are relevant for the development of local communities in the Congo.
